This module is self-paced and available to any user that registers with the MMA-CQI Learning Lab. The estimated time to complete is approximately 1 hour. Eligible physicians or physician assistants that complete this module will be able to claim 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit, which can be used towards fulfilling the opioid education requirements implemented under Public Law Chapter 488.
The module will identify strategies, best practices and resources for each unit, using various elements, which may include hyperlinks to readings and web resources, video lessons, and case studies. In addition to the units described above, users must complete a short survey, and pre-and post-assessment in order to receive CME credits for completing the module.
During this module, participants will:
• Understand the importance of offering MAT in the ED
• Have knowledge on the background and studies behind offering inductions in the ED
• Understand the science behind addiction
• Have knowledge on the basics of buprenorphine
